Search Engine Optimization (SEO) can be divided into two main parts. They are: on page optimization and off page optimization. On page SEO mainly focuses on the content of the site. On the other hand when it comes to the listings on the Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs), major search engines look for links from trustworthy sites to rank up on the top positions. 1. Links from relevant websites

Major search engines like: Google gives more importance to the links that are found on the websites with related contents. The links kept on unrelated websites has very less significance for SEO.

2. Links from higher Google page rank:

Higher page ranks shows that the web site is more reliable. Therefore Google and other major search engines trust more on the back links from the sites with higher PR. Furthermore, if we get more links from the web sites with higher PR then it helps to increase the PR of our own site also.

3. Links without no follow attribute

Nofollow link does not pass the link juice which is useful to increase the page rank. In other words, follow link increases the credibility of the site if the link is from highly ranked site. This boosts the chances of better positioning on SERP also. However, the nofollow link can redirect traffic but it does not transfer the link juice.
